Performing Groups at Blue Dog Dance!

At Blue Dog Dance we offer a performing group program for elementary and middle school students. This program is great for dancers who would like to get on stage more and even get the experience of going to competition! Dancers in our performing group program also go to dance conventions and take class from special guest teachers. Performing group members not only get all of these amazing opportunities, but they also build a strong connection to their classmates as well as teachers.

So, what are some of the performance opportunities that our performing group members get?
– Retirement Homes
– Newcastle Days
– Salmon Days Parade
– Competition
– Royal Blue Dance Company Gala
– Performing Group Showcase
– Blue Dog Dance Recital
– And many more one time events!

For our elementary age students, dancers come in on Sundays for a two block. One class is Performing Group, this is where the dancers will get their choreography for recital, showcase, and competition. The other class is Company Jazz, during this class dancers work on their technique, flexibility, and strengthening to build their skill set.

For our 6th-8th grade students, dancers come in on Sundays for a three class block. One class is Performing Group, this is where the dancers will get their choreography for recital, showcase, and competition. Another class is Jazz where they work on dynamic moves such as leaps, kicks, and turns. The final class is Barre, this class focuses on basics and foundational dance technique with stretching and conditioning elements.
