Blue Dog Dance
A Dance Performing and Development Program for Middle School Students
WHAT: A concentrated dance program for 6th-8th grade students.
Classes will meet Sundays 2pm-5pm beginning September 2018.
Dancers will attend 3 classes in succession (order of classes will vary):
performing group rehearsal
Students electing to be in this program will be separated into classes based on age and experience.
Dance portfolio with headshot, solo video, resume, and their own choreographic piece. These activities will be offered throughout the year with a monthly schedule. There are no fees for these services. Hopefully master classes with teachers outside of Blue Dog.
We are learning solos in a camp format this summer with choreography session and rehearsal with technique class.
In Motion will allow performing dancers the ability to dance in an intensive format.
At Blue Dog Dance, we always evaluate what is the best for our students – and their families. We want to try this program as a way to give students and teachers a focused dance time with the same students.
In an effort to make dance training more compact, we not only want to make classes line up on Sunday, but also we will do our best to stack tap, hip hop, ballet, and pre-point on either Wednesday or Thursday depending on teacher availability. While In Motion dancers will be required to take the 3 classes on Sunday, any other class is optional. We will do our best to make and show rehearsal before or after the classes on Sunday.
Keep in mind that performances for Performing Group will typically fall on Saturdays. You will get that schedule as soon as dates become available.
Tuition – 3 classes
Performing Group Fees – dancewear, swag item (sweatpants), costume fee in Fall, competition
Solo Camp – $300 – competition fees extra
Summer Intensive – $175
Convention – $200
This program affects our schedule for the 2019-2020 year. We need to have 24 students participate. Enroll at front desk or in the Blue Dog App. Enrollment ends March 31.
